Dr. Tekemia Dorsey was elected in 2019 as the first African American to serve on the USA Triathlon Board of Directors. As CEO of the International Association of Black Triathletes (IABT), Dr. Dorsey oversees a nonprofit organization serving urban communities — especially black youth — with a mission to provide advancement for urban youth and communities they represent through the sport of triathlon by being a gateway to reduce academic and health disparities and to increase opportunities for collegiate studies, internships, and economic development. She is also the owner of IABT Multisport Racing, the only African American and woman-owned multisport racing company in the nation. Dr. Dorsey is a USA Triathlon Level I and Youth & Junior-certified coach, Youth & Junior Elite Coach, a USA Triathlon-certified race director, USAT Board Liaison to the Age Group Nationals Committee, and a member of the USA Triathlon Race Director Committee. Dr. Dorsey is also a part of Leadership Baltimore County, Class of 2020.
Dr. Dorsey is the founder of the 2018 Youth & Junior TRI-Conference®/EXPO*Event. For 10 years is served on the Board of Directors for the Co-Ed Christian Softball League and for the remaining five years, she served as Commissioner of Co-Ed Christian Softball League overseeing 15 teams and 600+ players. In her role, she was also liaison to Baltimore City Recreations and Parks and Baltimore City Umpire League. Dr. Dorsey is the former CEO/Senior Consultant of The Creative GRP, LLC now DTD’s Urban Multisport Consulting Firm. Under Dorsey’s leadership, The Creative GRP, LLC is the seven-time recipient of the Best of Baltimore Small Business Consulting Award; the 2016 Recipient of the USCA Best of Baltimore Training Award; and was inducted into The Best of Baltimore Business Hall of Fame. Dorsey is also the founder of the Dr. Tekemia Dorsey’s (DTD) Institute 2 Transform Leaders.
Dr. Dorsey received her Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix and Masters of Education in Guidance & Counseling from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Using her leadership principles and core pillars, Dr. Dorsey has become an established, best-selling and awarding winner author and business professional, keynote speaker, facilitator/workshop presenter, curriculum specialist, publisher, professor, entrepreneur, radio show host, executive leadership trainer/coach, community activist, athlete and Child of God. She is a well-rounded athlete as a runner (marathoner), duathlete, triathlete, and an IRONMAN. Dorsey has more than 25 years in working with youth, education, leadership and sports.
